DEBBIE BENNETT AWARDED "SONG WRITER OF THE YEAR-2007: BY THE COUNTRY GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION. THE convention and award show was held in Salem ,Va. Aug. 20-25 and due to a prior singing engagement, Debbie was unable to be there and friend and fellow CGMA member Vernon Harris accepted the award on her behalf. The award was then presented to Debbie at the Country Gospel Jamboree by fellow members and president of the CGMA, Bruce Trent and Billy Hale in front Of many of Debbie's friends and family members there in my home town of Stuart, VA.
The Historic Star Theater in Stuart, Va. held it's first annual" Country Gospel Music Jamboree"hosted by Nashville recording artists Debbie Bennet and Bruce Trent on Aug.26 FROM 3:00-6:00 PM. It was considered a success and the 2nd annual "Homecoming " event is scheduled for Aug.9, 7:00-10:OO PM 2008

His name was Jerrald Mitchell.
